Trapped Thoughts

Monday, May 27, 2019

I feel Trapped.

My mind trying to escape on paper,
only half makes it.
Only half sees the light of day, while
the other half remains locked away.

The only hope I have for saving it is to read.
Anything and everything until
my thoughts are so strong and so loud
they break free from their cell,

leaping to paper, filling

a page,
a book,
a bookcase.

I’ll continue to read so my mind stays free,
never to return to its’ immobilized state.
Never again will my

dreams,
riddles,
thoughts
and schemes

be untold.

Chronicles of an Intern - Part IIII

Chapter Four: Morning Routine

I'm not the most punctual worker, just an honest one. Now for the shocker: There wasn't a day of that internship I was ever late.

Morning two came all too soon. BEEP BEEP BEEP sounds my alarm. I look over at the time, 4:30am. "Can't wait to do this four days a week", I grouched.

I wanted so badly to hit the snooze button, but I wasn't about to be late on my second day of this god-forsaken internship.

I forced myself out of bed and into my gym clothes. I slowly made my way out the door, to the lower-level apartment workout center.

The gym has always been my happy place. And thankfully, I had it all to myself that morning. Then again, I did wake up before the roosters...

I slowly started the treadmill in hopes that it would spark some energy in me. By the time I got off, I looked like I'd just been walked through a powerwash. Soaked from head to toe in sweat.

After throwing around some weights and a quick ab circuit I made my way back to the condo for a short shower and some much-appreciated coffee.

Before I knew it, it was 6am and I already in my Escape heading North toward The Beasts' domain. Due to traffic, I wouldn't arrive until 9, but I banked on that time to mentally prepare myself for the long, grueling hours ahead.
